From inventory management to an ERP solution for the trades

The story of IDALABS began in 2014, when our founder Tobias Gurtler wrote the first lines of code for digital inventory management. After more than 20 years in software development and logistics, he kept seeing the same problem: trade businesses struggling with complex inventory and procurement processes. Tobias wanted to help, so he began building an inventory management solution for the construction trades as a hobby.

Tobias' product helped many businesses improve their processes, and in 2017 he co-founded IDALABS GmbH & Co. KG with software developer Alexander Westen. Together, they built on that early solution and developed it into IDA, a comprehensive ERP system for trade businesses. As a all-in-one platform, IDA supports end-to-end digital workflows. Today, IDALABS is a team of more than 50 people, tackling the challenges of the trades with digital expertise and passion.
